Some Additional Info as the Christmas Eve Release of iXtreme LT+ v3.0 Nears

From c4evaspeaks.com:
With the final testing stage of BenQ and phat Lite-On underway in preparation for the scheduled Christmas Eve release of c4eva?s iXtreme LT+ v3.0, we thought we?d drop some additional bits of info into your Stockings in the form of answers to some recent questions.
Version 3.0 of iXtreme LT+ for BenQ and Lite-On (both phat and slim) does in fact retain support for truncated backups, although it is strongly recommended to use full burns made with a compatible Lite-On iHAS drive flashed with the iXtreme Burner MAX fw. Support for truncated backups, however, remains excluded from Hitachi in its forthcoming 3.0 version.
While abgx360 v1.0.6 remains in progress, the new version of Xbox Backup Creator can be used temporarily as an alternative for injecting the necessary new AP25 topology data files into existing backup ISOs. XBC doesn?t perform the same degree of validation of topology data files, and provides no means to verify their authenticity or correctness, so be very cautious if using files from unknown sources until abgx360 is released. In addition to extracting/injecting AP25 topology data files, the new XBC also works with the existing 0800 v3.0 ripping firmware to dump backup ISOs that include proper topology data from original game discs. At the time of writing, it has yet to be definitively determined whether the new XBC will be released alongside LT v3.0, or if it will be released later. The new abgx360 is still under heavy development, and will release in due time.
Recently, there have been some rumors and bogus info spread by a sad individual that is attempting to trick and confuse people with fake release dates, false info, bogus IRC channels and Facebook accounts (note: we don?t post on Facebook, only Twitter), and mislabeling things as ?official? when they are in fact not. We?d like to remind users that the only official sources for news and info from c4eva and the team are here at c4evaSpeaks.com, the #c4e channel on EFNet IRC, the Team-Xecuter, JungleFlasher, and abgx360 websites, as well as reliable news outlets such as Xbox-Scene. Be wary of news or information from other outlets that don?t cite the official #c4e IRC channel or one of the aforementioned sites as the original source.
xeBuild GUI v1.0

Swizzy released a GUI for xeBuild v1.0:
Overview – What it does
- This is a frontend/GUI for xeBuild, what it does is make it easy for you to select most options that you might need, such as Motherboard, SMC hack for freeboot, image type etc. etc.
- It is able to check what SMC hack you have previously used for JTAG it’s also able to tell you what SMC version you have, and if it’s a JTAG, Clean/Retail, Glitch or Cygnos patched SMC :)
- If you put any of these files next to the executable it’ll use them
automaticly:
SMC.bin – Custom SMC of your choice; ONLY USE THIS OF YOU KNOW WHAT
YOU ARE DOING!!!!
Xell.bin – Custom Xell of your choice; ONLY USE THIS OF YOU KNOW WHAT
YOU ARE DOING!!!!
cpukey.txt – It’ll read the first line of this file as CPUKey
flashdmp.bin – It’ll load this as source nand ;)
Default.xml – It’ll load any preset settings from this file ;)
options.ini – It’ll load any custom settings from this (for xeBuild)
launch.ini – Settings for Dashlaunch, if you choose to use this setting it’ll include this file in the built image ;)

DashLaunch v2.27 Released

It's been more than a month but another dashboard release means another DashLaunch release to go along with it. c0z has released version 2.27 to push in some bugfixes and support for the 14699 kernel. In this version, c0z has removed the FCRT patch which was incompatible with 1175 drives. (Probably the reason why Rogero temporarily went back to using v2.25 in his 360 Multi Builder program) On the installer side of things, c0z has revised the patch checks and the extension building so that it follows xebuild's base+patch's method.
You can grab DashLaunch from below.

NullDC-360 (Dreamcast Emulator) for LibXenon by GliGli

He never stops working :)

After Mupen64-360 and the Reset Glitch Hack, Gligli started a new project.

NullDC-360

This is a Dreamcast Emulator, based on NullDC, for LibXenon. Work started approximately a week ago and it's already showing nice progress.
Here you go with some screenshots:

Thx GliGli for your hard work you put into all this :)

Udpate 27/11/11

After a long dev period here's a little update about GliGli's nulldc port, on the last update, the emu was running on interpreter, and GliGli faced a big problem, there is no dynarec for the xbox 360 architecture (PowerPC), so he had to code his own :D

Currently the port runs at 168mhz ingame for Soul Calibur (DC Cpu speed is 200mhz). The speed is not constant during games, for example you can see on the video that Soul Calibur stage 1 isn't at that emulation speed, but the other stages are.

To Do :

Quote
- Reach full speed
- Sound Emulation
- Add Save
- Add Menu

New iXtreme LT+ v3.0 Update..........

From c4evaspeaks.com:
C4eva shared with us in private today some further details about the upcoming iXtreme LT+ v3.0, which is now targetted for release sometime after December 6, 2011. Earlier this week, Microsoft?s Major Nelson announced December 6 as the official release date for the final version of its Fall 2011 Dashboard Update. Scheduling LT+ v3.0 for release after this date will allow c4eva and the team a chance to analyze the final update so as to ensure no additional changes to v3.0 are necessary.

With the new iXtreme LT+ v3.0, original game discs will need to be analyzed by Xbox Backup Creator in order to gain disc topology data. This data replaces the need for AP2.5/dae.bin data and enables any AP2.5 challenge to be answered correctly. C4eva noted that the topology data method is very efficient ? using only 24kB of space ? and extremely accurate. Due to differences between them, each game will require its own individual set of topology data. A risk of backups being detected poses itself if the same topology data is used between two different titles. This risk is mitigated by using abgx360 to make certain that the backup contains the appropriate topology data.

Backups will remain the same layout, but will either need to have the topology data inserted by the new abgx360, or be re-dumped with the new Xbox Backup Creator. C4eva reconfirmed that all current AP2.5-active XGD2 and XGD3 backups with old AP25 replay data are not backward-compatible with iXtreme LT+ v3.0 and will indeed need to be patched or re-dumped and re-burned. Non-AP2.5 titles, however, will remain unchanged and do not require re-burning.
MW3 clan tag hack, tutorial and warning

If you have been playing MW3 on Xbox Live you have probably seen some gamers with weird characters in their clan tags, many of you thought that this was the result of a hacked lobby, but it’s not, in fact it is much easier to do than you probably ever thought. Today we will show you how to have Xbox 360 controller buttons in your clan tag – but we must warn you that this may be considered as hacking, so do it at your own risk!
It is really quite simple, to cut a long story short if you use certain pairs of characters in your clan tag it will show up as one of the buttons. If you scroll down to the bottom of this post you can see a video showing you how to do it.
There are 17 different buttons which you can show, perhaps the most popular are the A, B, X and Y buttons. Below we have embedded an image showing you what needs to be entered for each one.
I have not done this myself, but if you look carefully at the video below it doesn’t take long to do. The main thing to remember is that the first time you enter the characters it won’t work, but once you go back in to edit your clan tag you will see a weird box character, exit again and the corresponding button should show up in your clan tag. What is also quite neat about it is that it also works for naming your classes.
Like many glitches this is pretty pointless, in fact I really hope Infinity Ward patch the game so that this no-longer works as it just looks messy in the lobby in my opinion, do you agree?
What neat words have you managed to come up with? My person Favorite is a capital ‘F’, the ‘A’ button and the Right Trigger button, it’s the simple things in life that please me….

Great MW3 Video ......

Xbox.com: Enhanced! New Social & Video Sections

In the coming days, the familiar “My Xbox” section of Xbox.com is going away. Fear not: It’s being replaced with a significant update that will make it even easier to see what your friends are doing on Xbox LIVE. My Xbox is being superceded by the new “Social” section, which not only lets you see at a glance what your friends are up to, but also gives you early access to one of the coolest features coming in the next Xbox 360 dashboard update. That’s right: Xbox.com users will be the very first to try the new Beacons feature, which lets you mark games you want to play with others, making it easier to find friends who want to play the same games.
That’s not all we have in store: Other site enhancements are on the way, including the ability to search the Zune video catalog and buy movies and TV shows right from your browser.
If you’re used to clicking “My Xbox” to get to the page, note that the Xbox.com navigation menu is undergoing some changes to make room for our new Video page and some other new items. The new link to look for is “Social.” The good news is that, if you’re signed in to Xbox.com, you’ll be taken right to the Social page when visiting Xbox.com.
At the top of the social page, you’ll see a group of tiles in the new Microsoft style we lovingly call Metro. Watch this spot for links to Xbox LIVE events, preview articles with all the juice details on the hottest new items on Marketplace, new video and game releases, Gamer Spotlight, and more. To the left of these are quick links that show you how many friends are online, and how many messages you currently have.

Below your avatar you’ll find handy links to common tasks, such as viewing your Profile, redeeming Xbox LIVE Marketplace codes, and checking your Download Queue. Now we get to the really fun stuff: The Friends Activity column shows you the popular games that your friends have been playing, who is playing those games right now, and who else has played them recently. (More on this in a few.) In the right-hand column, you can see the games and applications you’ve most recently loaded, as well as how many friends are playing them, and below that, you can view a list of your online friends and what they’re currently doing.
Click “Activity” at the top of the screen to view the new Activity page. At the top, in the My Recent Activity section, you’ll see the titles you’ve most recently played and which of your friends are playing them as well, in addition to any titles you’ve set a Beacon for. To set a Beacon for a title that you want to play with others, you’ll just find it in your activity list and click the “Set Beacon” button. You can have up to three Beacons active at a time, and you can optionally add a custom description (such as “From 7-10 pm Pacific” or “Horde Mode!”).

[Release] PS3 Media Server 1.50.0 Beta 2

Here’s another update to the PS3 Media Server, the easiest and simplest to share media via your wifi to your PS3.  Remember this is only a Beta, so everything may not be perfect. To Quote:

No new features have been added since 1.50.0 Beta 1 but many bugs have been fixed.
