PS3 Dongle ID Key Generator

Due to Graf_Chokolo releasing the USB Master Key yesterday on our forums, I knew it would not be long before someone wrote up a program to make your own Dongle ID keys. Very silly since having a dongle reply as something other then >AAAA will not gain you anything more then we already have been using, just the normal Factory/Service Mode!

Well Estx from PS3HAX Network seems to be the first to do so!

Straight forward to use.

p3kg – Xtse / Linux only / (See below for the now added Windows build!)

Description
Generates a Dongle ID Key based on the Dongle ID provided.

Usage
./p3kg

Example
./p3kg 0xAABB

NOTE: must be 2 bytes (4 characters) and prefixed with 0x
I.e. 0x0AA will not work; 0x00AA will.

When I wrote this I hard-coded the revoke list on graf_chokolo’s wiki so credits
to him and all of his hard work.

If you want source code, let me know – I’ll make a few changes – tidy it up and post it as well.

UPDATED: (Added Windows Build) - Uses .NET 2.0

Usage is very similar, except command is:

Code:
p3kgwn.exe 0xAAAB
Replacing 0xAAAB with whatever device ID you like.
NOTE: The p3kgwn.zip is for WINDOWS and p3kg.tar.gz is for LINUX!

UPDATE: for those that don't want to install a program, Waninkoko has done one up as a Web JavaScript -> Generator

Graf_Chokolo: HV Exploit and Dump from GameOS!

The decrypting and hypervisor master of the PS3 console, "Mr. Graf_Chokolo" has done it again!

Today, he informs our PSX-SCENE viewers that he is able to dump the Hypervisor v3.15 via the GameOS and plans to do the same for v3.41 and make all the technical details public in a few days!

I didn’t use second VAS like Geohot. I used lv1_undocumented_function_114 and lv1_undocumented_function_115 to exploit HV after i got a dangling HTAB entry

Now we don't need Linux to exploit and dump HV. Furthermore, HV dump from GameOS is a lot better because when GameOS is running more features are activated in HV So, i can reverse now more C++ objects and understand better how HV works

I will make everything public very soon and i plan to dump HV 3.41 in the next days

Happy New Year guys!
BREAKING NEWS UPDATE: -- FINALLY THE REAL KEY! -- Thanks Graf!

Just as i said previously, use USB Dongle Authenticator, then dump HV and the decrypted USB Dongle Master Key will be in HV dump I extracted this key from my HV dump after i used USB Dongle Authenticator on GameOS. Then i rebooted GameOS but not HV and the key was still in HV and still decrypted

More on the Hitachi/LG/Panasonic slim

More on Hitachi-LG DL10N Slim Drive: 360 MFR date, Tray Compare, ...
>> We got some more details about the new Hitachi-LG DL10N DVD drive found in recent Xbox360 Slim consoles.

Heezer reported on our forums he also got a Hitachi-LG DL10N drive in his Xbox360 Kinect 4GB Bundle he bought in Germany. He posted some much requested information about the MFR date and factory details of the Xbox360 console:

Quote:

MFR date: 2010-10-09 [that's October 9th 2010]
Xbox 360 S console, M$ corporation, Model 1439, Redmond, WA 98052-6399 USA
serial number: 46XXXXXX 04105

This means:
production year: 0 (2010)
week: 41
factory code: 05

Of course at this moment we don't have enough data to know if 2010-10-09 is the first Manufacture Date with these drives, neither to know exactly in which factories or production lines these new drives are used. But if you have a 360 made on or after 2010-10-09 in factory 05, line 4 chances are you have a DL10N.

I also updated our Xbox360 DVD drive brand/model detection guide to include the DL10N. As many of you probably already noticed the Hitachi-LG DL10N has a different DVD-tray from any other Xbox360 DVD drive, so it's easy to find out if you have one without opening your 360 case. I added a picture of the tray posted by Soloyo next to the 3 other types of trays so you can easily compare them.

This image has been resized, click here to view the full-sized image.

Soloyo also posted a few new pictures of the DL10N internals which you can see here, here and here.

SOURCE:

Xbox360 DVD drive brand/model detection

There are currently 6 models of DVD drives used in the Xbox 360 console. It's possible to find out which brand/model your Xbox 360 uses without opening the console. However it's not possible to find the firmware/revision of the drive without opening up the case and look-up the information on the manufacturer sticker located on top of the DVD drive case.

The List of Xbox360 DVD drives and Revisions:
1/ Toshiba-Samsung TS-H943
(often called 'Samsung') - Revisions: MS25, MS28
2/ Hitachi-LG GDR-3120L (often called '(old/fat) Hitachi') - Revisions: 0032, 0036, 0040, 0046, 0047, 0058, 0059, 0078FK, 0079
3/ Philips-BENQ/LiteOn VAD6038 (often called 'BENQ') - Revisions: 62430C, 64930C
4/ Philips-LiteOn DG-16D2S (often called '(old/fat) LiteOn') - Revisions: 74850C, 83850C v1v/2, 93450C
5/ Philips-LiteOn DG-16D4S (sometimes called 'new LiteOn', 'Slim LiteOn' or 'Philips') - Revisions: 9504, 0225
6/ Hitachi-LG DL10N (sometimes called 'new Hitachi', 'Slim Hitachi') - Revisions: 0500AA

STEP1: DVD TRAY CHECK - TS-H943 vs GDR-3120L vs VAD6038/DG-16D2S/DG-16D4S vs DL10N

Open the DVD tray and look at the shapes on the tray. The colour can sometimes differ so DO NOT look for that - there are enough shape differences on these 4 trays to find out which one you own. A few of the differences have been marked with an arrow, but there are many more - check the high-res picture of more details.

If your DVD tray matches:
DVD TRAY 1/ You have a Toshiba-Samsung TS-H943 (often called 'Samsung')
DVD TRAY 2/ You have a Hitachi-LG GDR-3120L (often called 'Hitachi')
DVD TRAY 3/ You have a Philips-BENQ/LiteOn VAD6038, Philips-LiteOn DG-16D2S or Philips-LiteOn DG-16D4S. Check the next STEP2 below.
DVD TRAY 4/ You have a Hitachi-LG DL10N (sometimes called 'new Hitachi', 'Slim Hitachi')

STEP2: BORDER CHECK - VAD6038/DG-16D2S vs DG-16D4S

This check is probably not really required because as far as we know the Philips-LiteOn DG-16D4S only comes in the 'new' Xbox 360 S/Slim and so far all S/Slim 360s also come with this drive. So it's probably pretty safe to say that if you have a new Xbox 360 S/Slim you have a Philips-LiteOn DG-16D4S. If you still own an 'orginal' Xbox360 you have the Philips-BENQ/LiteOn VAD6038 or Philips-LiteOn DG-16D2S and you should check the next step to find out which drive you have.

However there is a small difference on the tray if you compare the VAD6038/DG-16D2S vs DG-16D4S. Both the VAD6038 and DG-16D2S have a little border sticking out the DG-16D4S doesn't have. Check out the picture below.

1/ Border sticking out: You have a Philips-BENQ/LiteOn VAD6038 or Philips-LiteOn DG-16D2S, check STEP3 below.
2/ No border sticking out: You have a Philips-LiteOn DG-16D4S (sometimes called 'new LiteOn', 'Xbox360 S LiteOn' or 'Philips').

STEP3: WIRE-COLOUR CHECK - VAD6038 vs DG-16D2S

Note: This check might not be 100% accurate - to be confirmed.
Remove the faceplate and find the little hole under the Xbox 360 logo of the dvd drive (shown in the red rectangle below). With good lightning you should be able to see the color of the wires inside.

1/ If all the wires are white you have a Philips-BENQ/LiteOn VAD6038 (often called 'BENQ').
2/ If at least one of the wires is yellow (or all of them) you have a Philips-LiteOn DG-16D2S (often called '(old) LiteOn')

As a follow-up to my PS3 Acid CFW XMB XML Hack Pack, today we are happy to announce that we have enabled more PlayStation 3 Debug options in our ongoing PS3 Acid CFW WIP project and posted a video below.

Here are the details from DeViL303 at kbx.org:

Quote:
As you may know, the Acid CFW project was first released on PS3News.com over a month ago by Cfwprophet, and since then its progress is going like a snowball on a big hill !!

We are working on this continously and even in last few hours Cfwprophet and myself have made some great discoveries with regard to Debug options! More news to come so watch this space for more great info about this Custom Firmware for PlayStation 3!

This is a work in progress so any help or ideas you can offer will be gratefully accepted. Big thanks to PSJailBreak team for making all this possible, Hermes and KaKaRaTo for all the payloads, Grimso (you know why!), JaicraB for the Firmloader which is vital at this point, Nev for all the work on this site, PS3 News, CJ and all the other great people over at PS3News.com plus many more.

If we all get together and hack this brilliant piece of technology it will keep getting better and better, who knows where it will stop! Even today there is talk of JailBreak for 3.50FW - WOW! Keep up the good work guys!

[RELEASE] VICE64 c64 Emulator For PS3

after waking up i looked for progress on the discussed ealier.. that one has no progress yet but an unrelated has surfaced!

from PSX-Scene here’s the info!
TimRex has released VICE (Versatile Commodore ) for PS3 release 1.0, which is a , PLUS4 and VIC20 for PS3 JailBreak users.

* Video filters, with preview
* Autoload
* Warp Mode (Achieves ~ 350-700% actual speed)
* On-Screen Keyboard (partial support).
* Keyboard Support (partially implemented).
* Supports all known (uncompressed) formats (.d64 .d71 .d80 .d81 .d82 .g64 .g41 .x64 .t64 .tap .prg .p00)
Menu Controls
CROSS – Launches the with the selected title set to fast autoload
TRIANGLE – Launches the directly into BASIC
SELECT – Settings / Configuration
START – Returns to the
Vice Controls
CROSS – Fire
D-PAD – Joystick
SELECT – Swap joysticks
START – Menu/Configuration
TRIANGLE – Mapped to keyboard for ‘Y’

L2 + R2 – Warp Mode
*1 The CIRCLE button has been doubly mapped to the joystick ‘UP’ direction. This is useful for platform style games where the UP direction indicates a JUMP action. Clearly a difference in design aesthetics between joysticks and control pads, this might be more desirable.
Known Issues
- Compressed formats currently NOT supported (.zip .bz2 .gz .d6z .d7z .d8z .g6z .g4z .x6z)
- On-Screen-Keyboard is not fully mapped yet. Some keys will register incorrectly, if at all.
- Actual Keyboard support not fully implemented, but good enough for the minute.
- Does not save settings / configuration
Source code to be made available pending some serious cleanup and refactoring.
Thanks go out to Squarepusher, Shinhalsafar, Cm0nkey, Airmaker for their hard work on the Snes9x PS3 port, and their cellFramework library. This work also incorporates their menu system and config UI. Also to the original VICE team for creating a solid and well maintained codebase to work with.

i will only be allowing only useful posts, that is posts that give actual information or ask actual meaningful questions. all other posts will go into the trash.
i will not allow any posts asking about when keys or other crap will be released. i will also not allow any “good work guys” style posts, not because i dont think the work is good, but merely because i dont want this comments section filling up with more uneeded posts that make it hard for ppl to find real info between.
since i will have to confirm every post, it may take a unmber of hours even for worthwhile posts to appear. this is because i have many other things better to do than to moderate posts 24/7. when i get time i will see about going back thru the existing posts and removing all the crap posts just leaving the useful ones. but this may or may not happen as my time is limited as it is. (if i had more time i would do useful things like more actual posts on this blog )
Looks like some things were too good to be true :(
Original Post:
has sure been busy this weekend, and now I believe he has delivered the biggest bang to the PS3 scene since the PSJB :) . has claimed that he has found the PS3 and has contacted zAxis to use with PSGrade.

I have dumped the key but will not make it public for now. I don’t want people developing more dongles and making more money off it
Don’t worry, I have contacted zAxis and he will use it for his PSGrade
@beavis
I know where you’re coming from and feel the same way but to be honest figuring this whole key thing out was interesting and that’s what motivated me
As for the 3.50 jailbreak, I have been working on any possible exploits or methods using one my original 3.15 and I have made some interesting progress
He has stated he will not release it publicly yet, but will be putting it to good use:

@norman
I was going to just post it here but like I said, I have contacted zAxis and asked him to keep it to himself for now
I plan to release publicly after PSGrade has become wide spread
Please understand
What a glorious day and weekend for the PS3 scene indeed.

Graf_Chokolo decrypts EBOOT.BIN

What a booming weekend for the PS3 scene, has just announced that he is now able to decrypt .BIN.

To quote:
Guys, i’m able now to decrypt games, .bins
I will make my findings public very soon
Here is a snippet of a game i decrypted: #1347337 – Pastie
Guys, how can I install NP-DRMs on my PS3, I have no clue!
However other sites are reporting that this is the decrypted for Sonic 4 which is not the case it is actually the from Sonic’s Ultimate Genesis Collection which is old (around FW 2.x) and really has nothing to do with playing FW 3.50 games on FW 3.41.

Graf Chokolo Decrypts OtherOS.self, PS3 Service JIG Lv2diag.self

A few weeks back graf_chokolo announced that he decrypted PS3 Firmware 3.50 and work on a free public PS3 Downgrader was underway, followed by a PSGroove Payload update to decrypt PKGs from PlayStation 3 PUP Files with today's update including the OtherOS.self and Lv2diag.self from a PS3 Service JIG decrypted!

Download: Decrypted Lv2diag.self from PS3 Service JIG (Teaser)

To quote via xorloser's blog, linked above, on the PS3 appldr interface reversal progress:

graf_chokolo says: Guys, i know you are waiting for the USB Dongle Master Key from me :) I have got now 2 fat PS3 with HV 3.15 but unfortunately no SX28 development board yet to exploit it :)

But i was not idle and the last and this week i was working on reversing of self decryption. And now i’m able to decrypt SELFs and SPRXs on my exploited GameOS by using HV calls only and no GameOS functions at all :) I reversed the interface to appldr which decrypts SELFs on GameOS 3.41.

So you won’t get bored until i get the USB Dongle Master Key, i will make my findings and my source code public very soon and you will be able to decrypt your favourite games and programs by yourself :-) Let the fun begin, guys :)

Here is a “small” teaser of decrypted Lv2diag.self from service JIG :)

http://pastie.org/1333833

You cannot decrypt isolated SPUs with appldr, i think, because they are decrypted by isoldr.

I’m able to decrypt hdd_copy.self from 3.42 but not from 3.50

otheros.self decrypted :)

Stay tuned for more PS3 Hacks news. Also be sure to drop by the PS3 Hacks Forum for updates!
